My first experience with acupuncture was about 10 years ago. I knew very little about it, other than what the acupuncturist had explained to me. Needless to say the experience changed my life. I had never felt such overwhelming peace and calmness in my body before. It allowed me to gain a new perspective on how a person should feel on a day-to-day basis: balanced.
That same year, I began studying Chinese medicine at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine, Wisconsin. While attending school, I interned with several knowledgeable practitioners in order to enhance my clinical experience.
During my final year at school, I wrote my major thesis paper on the use of acupuncture during labor. Thus began my work with women's health care. After graduating from school and passing the national board examinations (NCCAOM), I began attending labors in the hospital, using acupuncture to progress the labor, moderate pain levels, and calm the mother. Pregnancy became a major part of my practice and I eagerly moved into all aspects of women's healthcare.

A Focus on Fertility
I have a private practice in Highland Park, IL, called Healing Ground. My practice focuses on all issues for women, but the greatest majority of my work is enhancing fertility for couples. I see the greatest changes occurring when both individuals take active roles to strengthen themselves and their chances for conception. It is my belief that the stronger the individual, the stronger the egg and sperm, the stronger the embryo, the stronger the pregnancy.
Based on this conviction, I created Fertile Options, a fertility program for couples to experience together. The program balances the couple physically, emotionally and deepens the connection as partners. This strengthens their reproductive systems, and allows them to be in an optimal state for conception.
